Areas, a global leader in food & beverage and travel retail, continues to drive its proprietary brand StrEAT with the opening of a new outlet at Ibiza Airport following a full refurbishment, reinforcing its commitment to this gastronomic concept and its growth across key airport locations.

StrEAT, Areas’ proprietary brand, was born from the fusion of “street” and “eat” and is inspired by street food culture, bringing the diversity and dynamism of urban markets into the airport environment. The concept combines a varied, high-quality culinary offering with an attractive and contemporary design, creating a space designed to offer travelers a distinctive experience during their journey.

Since its launch in 2017, StrEAT has evolved into one of Areas’ most recognizable proprietary brands, with international presence and a scalable model across key airports. What began as a concept closely connected to its local environment has grown into a global proposition, while maintaining its essence: a diverse culinary offering that blends authentic local flavors with international references, transforming waiting time into a dynamic, social and memorable experience.

The space at Ibiza Airport covers 585 square meters and has a capacity for 153 guests. It features a curated selection of brands that bring variety and complementarity to the gastronomic offering, including Aloha, Barra de Pintxos, Tim Hortons® and Rossopomodoro. This combination reflects Areas’ model, which focuses on integrating leading international brands with well-established concepts and proposals adapted to current traveler trends.

With this opening, Areas reaches seven StrEAT locations worldwide, with presence in Spain—at Madrid-Barajas Airport (T1, T2 and T4), Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca—and in the United States, where it operates at Atlanta Airport (Terminal E) and Newark Airport (Terminal B). The company also plans to open two new locations at Barcelona–El Prat Airport, further consolidating the expansion of this format.
