Areas, the global travel food and beverage leader, won the Hot Concept in Travel Hospitality and Hot Concept in Business Management prizes at the 21st Hot Concepts awards held at the Goya Theater in Madrid last night. The awards, which have been running for over two decades, aim to recognize different stakeholders in the travel channel segment.

The organization handed Sibarium the “Hot Concept in Travel Retail” award, collected by Areas’ Operational director Motorways and Train Statios, Fernando Sánchez, on the company’s behalf.

Sibarium is a concept offering a true gastronomic experience based on Spain’s rich cultural heritage. With a careful curation of local delicacies and a welcoming vibe, it is a true culinary ambassador, inviting travelers to enjoy the country’s characteristic flavors through its tasting bar. Since the first branch opened at Terminal 2 Barcelona airport in 1997, Sibarium has grown into a benchmark at Spain’s busiest airports and has four outlets at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas. Each space inside Sibarium, from “El Aperitivo” through “Enoteca”, is designed to reflect an upmarket warmth that enriches the full gastronomic experience. Areas also took home the “Hot Concept in Business Management” awards , collected by company CCO, Montse Adán. The organizers held the company up as an example of becoming an international benchmark in the Food & Beverage and Travel Retail sector, with north of 2,000 restaurants and stores across Europe and America. Its success rests on a top-quality and diverse offering pivoted to the diverse needs of the 350 million customers it receives each year.
