On June 27th, Foment del Treball presented a new edition of the ‘New Leaderships’ conference to underscore some of the innovative business initiatives that are driving a more sustainable future. The event gathered distinguished personalities from the business sector and featured participation from representatives of various companies committed to social and ecological responsibility.
Areas participated in event together with the companies PortAventura World, Vueling, and Naturgy, which included an engaging round table discussion on transforming companies through leadership.
For several years, Areas has been actively fighting against food waste by implementing concrete actions and forging key alliances. These efforts allow us to minimize surplus by offering food at reduced prices or donating it to vulnerable groups. Blanca López Alerm, Director of Communication, Sustainability, and Customer Experience at Areas, shared Areas’ initiatives to reduce food waste, emphasizing that “reducing food waste is a fundamental objective within our ESG strategy ‘Areas for Change.’ We fight against this issue by undertaking concrete actions and creating key alliances.” She also highlighted the importance of raising customer awareness, stating, “By involving our customers in this mission, we can collectively create a positive impact.”
