February 11th marked the celebration of the Areas Worldwide Challenge, culminating in a grand finale held at the company’s global headquarters in Barcelona. The event brought to a close several months of internal competition, bringing together operations teams from across Areas’ international business units.

The Areas Worldwide Challenge is a strategic initiative that reflects the company’s commitment to operational excellence and the development of its people on a global scale.

During the final, country representatives showcased their management capabilities, operational standards and team leadership, with the aim of being named overall winner of the challenge. Nuria Molera, From areas Iberia works in food & beverage at train stations in Barcelona, was proclaimed the winner.

With more than 30 years of professional experience, she has held different responsibilities across several Areas locations in Spain, including Málaga Airport and Menorca Airport, before taking on the management of her current operations in Barcelona, where she continues to lead with operational excellence and strong team engagement.

The final also featured the participation of the following country winners, truly reflecting the diversity and strength of the Areas community:

  • Areas Italia: Francesco Abbà, Store Manager at San Zenone Est Motorway travel plaza.
  • Areas USA: Chris Robertson, MSP Airport.
  • Areas Germany: Shi Ya Ku, from the Alexa shopping center – Kamps. (She will be represented by Frank Fiedler).
  • Areas LATAM: Nacho Nuñez, Airport Manager in Los Cabos, Mexico.
  • Areas France: Pascal Kluijtmans and Emmanuelle Niss, from Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts.

All participants demonstrated that with the right mindset and the true #AreasSpirit, anything is possible. As the company reflects on this milestone event, teams are already preparing for the next edition, continuing to drive excellence and inspire one another across the organization.
